I was blown away by the humility and candor (as well as the sense of humor) displayed by Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, in his interview on Monday's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. I had not expected Admiral Mullen to talk about how much he values diversity, and how he surrounds himself with multiple opinions (including those of people who disagree with him), to help ensure he makes the best decisions and recommendations for all of the men and women who serve in our military.I completely understand why GQ named him one of 2010's men of the year, and I wish him every success as he completes his role as the highest ranking officer in the U.S. Armed Forces. May we all aspire to act with his level of integrity and respect for the people he leads!
